The outdoor environment at Griffe Field offers children a unique and varied space to explore and investigate and we also have King George’s Playing Field on our doorstep. We believe that children’s learning experiences in the outdoor environment is a great motivator and offers excitement and interest.
Progressive outdoor learning experiences are delivered through a variety of school based activities linked to different subject areas, eg. investigating shape, creative writing and exploring nature through art. Each year group also takes part in school trips and in Key Stage 2, residential programmes are offered to Years 4, 5 and 6.
In addition, our children develop respect and care for plants and wildlife through opportunities such as tree walks, visiting the wildlife garden and learning about animals in their habitats.
